Feeling “Not Right” is a good thing.
With Meditation there’s a lot of hype and suggestions of “just do this”, (which I’m guilty of myself) but the truth is that we don’t just sit down and go into Nirvana. If we practice the end stages of meditation in order to be empty and in the moment without first liberating ourselves, then we will be sitting, eyes closed, bound within our conflicted selves, even as we momentarily relieve our stress.

Meditation is supposed to be so good for us but have you given it a try only to decide that it’s a waste of time? Did you close your eyes and find yourself daydreaming or thinking about problems and desires? Did you hang in there only to find yourself falling asleep? You probably need a guide. Without a companion or some kind of GPS system, our first journeys within can feel pretty strange. We are alone and we suddenly enter a foreign place (never mind that it is our own self). We don’t know the language or have a map of the roads. We have no idea about its workings or its ways. We can feel stuck pretty quickly, not knowing how to move around or relate to this unknown place. Continue reading
